Neroli essential oil is a highly aromatic oil derived from the blossoms of the bitter orange tree, scientifically known as Citrus aurantium. It is named after Princess Anne-Marie of Nerola, who popularized its use as a perfume in the 17th century. The oil is extracted through a process called steam distillation, which involves steaming the delicate white flowers to release and collect the fragrant essential oil.
